WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT THROUGH THIS SITE?

Information You Provide. We collect the personal information you knowingly provide (using your mouse and keyboard) when you use this Site. The information we collect depends on how you use this Site.

Information Sent to Us by Your Web Browser. We collect information that is sent to us automatically by your Web browser. This information typically includes your IP address, the identity of your Internet service provider, the name and version of your operating system, the name and version of your browser, the date and time of your visit, and the pages you visit. An “IP address” is a unique number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you connect to the Internet. It is used to identify your computer’s “location” in cyberspace, so that the information you request can be delivered to you. If you use a dial-up connection or a connection that assigns dynamic IP addresses, your computer will be assigned a new IP Address each time you connect to the Internet. If, however, your computer is permanently connected to the Internet using a static IP address, the IP address assigned to your computer will generally be the same each time you use your computer. Although it does not identify you by name, we treat your IP address as your personal information.

Generally, we do not link the information provided by your browser to information that identifies you by name. You should know, however, that when you respond to an electronic communication you receive from us, for example, by opening an email, downloading images or clicking on a link in an electronic newsletter, your browser tells us that you (or someone using your email address) has done so. We use this information to improve our marketing efforts. In addition, we review our server logs – which contain visitors’ IP addresses — for security and fraud prevention purposes. If criminal activity is suspected, we may share our server logs and the personal information we have collected through this Site with the appropriate investigative authorities who could use that information to trace and identify individuals.

Cookies and Similar Technologies. We use “cookies” and other Web technologies to collect information and support certain features of this Site. For example, we may use these technologies to

  • collect information about the ways visitors use this Site – which pages they visit, which links they use, and how long they stay on each page;
  • to manage and determine the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns;
  • to support the features and functionality of this Site – for example, to save you the trouble of reentering information already in our database or to prompt the settings you established on previous visits to this Site; and
  • to personalize your experience when you use this Site.

Generally, the information we collect using these Web technologies does not identify you personally. If, however, you have created a user identity, for example, by signing up to use a password-protected area on this Site, we may link the information we collect using Web technologies to other information that identifies you personally.

If you do not wish to receive cookies, you may set your browser to reject cookies or to alert you when a cookie is placed on your computer. You may also delete our cookies as soon as you leave a Site. Although you are not required to accept our cookies when you visit this Site, if you set your browser to reject cookies, you will not be able to use all of the features and functionality of this Site.

USE OF COOKIES, WEB BEACONS AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES BY THIRD PARTIES

Marketing Consultants. Our marketing consultants use Web beacons, cookies and other Web technologies to collect information about visitors to this Site. For example, our consultants may count how many visitors access this Site, what links they use, and what pages they view. They may also track which Web sites and advertisements refer traffic to this Site and the URLs of the sites to which this Site refer traffic (that is, the Web sites on which our visitors land when they leave this Site). Our consultants use this information to compile statistics and prepare reports that provide the feedback and analysis we need to understand the needs and interests of our visitors, improve the content, functionality and usability of this Site, and improve the effectiveness of our advertising and marketing efforts. The information our consultants collect does not identify you personally, but may include your computer’s IP address.

Advertising Companies. From time to time, we may use third-party advertising companies to target our online advertisements. These advertising companies may engage in “behavioral targeting” or “behavioral advertising.” “Behavioral advertising” is advertising that is targeted to the user or users of a specific computer, based on the user or users’ previous Web surfing behavior. Generally, here is how it works: Behavioral advertising companies place Web beacons on their clients’ Web sites. When you visit those Web sites, the Web beacon “tags” your computer with a “cookie.” The information stored on the cookie does not identify you personally and is not combined with any information that identifies you personally, but it does permit the advertising company to recognize your computer every time you access one of their clients’ sites. These advertising companies use the information they collect about your use of their clients’ Web sites to customize the advertisements you see when you visit their clients’ sites. The information they collect about your use of their clients’ Web sites is covered by their privacy policies, not by this Privacy Policy. If you do not wish to receive their cookies, you may “opt-out” by following the directions in their privacy policies.

NOTE: At the present time, we do not engage in “behavioral advertising,” however, we reserve the right to do so in the future. If and when we do, we will provide the name of each advertising company that we use and a link to each advertising company’s Web site on this page. If you would like us to notify you by email when we update this page, please click here
