Back to School ‘Virtual’ Wine Education Class
July 21 @ 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
🎓✏️ BACK-TO-SCHOOL VIRTUAL WINE EDUCATION 🚌🍎
Stop in to pick-up your CLASS SUPPLIES (6 securely packaged wine samples), grab your notebook, sharpen your pencil and get your bunny slippers on…our ‘Virtual‘ Educational Classes are about to begin! This month, the class theme is:
Old World vs New World: Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc
Chances are, you’ve heard “old world” and “new world” mentioned among wine connoisseurs, or maybe you joined us for our previous classes where we explored “old world” and “new world” wines, but let’s take our lessons a step further. In this month’s ‘VIRTUAL’ class, we will explore Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc wines from both worlds. Learn how the regional climates and terroir changes the structure and flavor profiles of the same grape varietals.
HOW IT WILL WORK: You will pickup your class supplies (wine samples and tasting notes) from WineStyles in West Des Moines between Noon and 5pm on Tuesday, July 21, 2020. Take them home, and get your wine glass ready. Our guided education class will instruct you when to pour the samples into the glass.
Old World: Where wine originated and developed for centuries. France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Austria, Hungary, Germany and other regions dating back to Northern Africa and the Middle East. Old World wines are usually lighter tasting, lower alcohol, higher acidity and less fruity.
New World: Regions where the vines were imported, such as North America, South America, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and now China. New World Wines typically have a riper taste, higher alcohol, less acidity and fruitier nuances.
